Bath Spa has direct connections to London and the Thames Valley, South Wales and the West Country. On weekdays there are normally two trains an hour to Paddington and the journey time is about an hour and a half.
It is easy to change services at Bristol Temple Meads from lines to the Midlands and the North. From the station it is a short taxi ride to the house.
Bath is convenient from the M4, M5 and M6. But be warned the city’s one-way system is rather baffling to newcomers. Once here, you do not really need a car - most places are easily walkable within the historic centre.
